MPOX.
MPOX, a sexually transmitted infection that has been occurring since 2022, particularly among MSM (men who have sex with men), can be prevented by vaccination or significantly mitigated during its course.
The Standing Committee on Vaccination of the Robert Koch Institute recommends vaccination for the risk groups.
Please note that MPOX vaccinations are only possible if indicated (men ≥ 18 years of age who have sex with men (MSM)).
If you were vaccinated against smallpox as a child, a single MPOX vaccination is sufficient as a booster. Otherwise, 2 vaccinations at least 4 weeks apart are recommended.
If you only received a single vaccination in 2022/2023, a single additional vaccination is sufficient.
According to current knowledge, no further vaccinations are necessary after the infection has been overcome.
Vaccination appointments can be booked online with us. Please feel free to talk to us during consultation hours.
